Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for the role of Detective Diane Russell. She is best known for her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a home with four other brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming a court reporter. Her modeling career began in high school and then gaining commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies as well as dramas in the years since. She has not had a successful or happy personal life. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past as well as two failed marriages. Her custody in 2005 was taken away from her.
